So why is this a difficult vote for anyone? Should not felons be prohibited from seeking office? For 20 years? Lost right to vote now but not right to seek office? Hmmm?

I completely agree with this amendment. I think it makes perfect sense to ban politicians who have breached the public trust. What would their campaign slogan be? I learned from my mistake and wont do it again? Theres no way a felon could stand up in an election anyway. This may decrease corruption, politicians involved in shady practices may take more caution in the face of a threat that could end their career. Corruption runs rampant in our political system hopefully this will take the edge off a little bit.
