True. We need some legislation not just more rhetoric. States need to be involved to make sure that any legislation passed does not encroach on states rights.
ReplyDeleteVery True. The states should take a more active role in protecting their borders, but the federal government should also help the states because they should not have to take on the immigrants by themselves. Therefore the states should be involved in the debate in Washington.
ReplyDeleteIn part I agree. Yes, if something more is done about illegal immigration states should be invloved in it and the federal governemnt should fund it 100%. However, maybe the federal government is not taking control of the issue becuase they realize that having illegal immigrants are a necessary part of our society. The article metioned the term undocumented worker being a euphamism for illegal immigrant. How is that a euphamism? I think that undocumented worker is the most to the point and literal definition there is. They are people that come here, work for terrible pay, and do not receive the benefits that a "documented worker" would. Of course illegal immigration is not free of problems, but if the federal governement was to make real efforts to completely stop it, some serious changes would have to be made to our society.
