  1. It's a little shocking that slaves are found in 90 Us cities just this year. I was completely unaware of this, and it makes me a little heated. It's crazy to think that still in today's America, where we pride ourselves on being the "land of the free" and at the same time our statistics sing a different song. I'm kind of interested in knowing in what ways are they being made to work as slaves.
I'm not as shocked about the rest of the world, but still upset. We see all the time people living in wretched conditions, working at slave level on the news in third world country's, but nobody does anything. Especially Americans, they constantly express "it's not my country," "it's too big for me to solve," and "it's in their culture." Well the world is your world, the problem will soon be your problem, and it was your culture and if not stopped will be your culture again.
We American's are now in the problem, with having 90 cities with reports of slavery, adding to the $32 billion worldwide human trafficking industry. Ten Million slaves? Really? This how we want to be recognized as?

  2. It is sad to think that the United States are contributing to this worldwide epidemic. According to the Global Post, Europe only accounts for about 40 percent of the human slave trade. The United States only reaches somewhere around 20 percent. I would have to imagine that trafficking in the US would be a lot more difficult than other nations that have a more relaxed law system.

  3. That's quite interesting Jeramy that it reaches to 20 percent in the United States. I agree that it would be a lot more difficult in the US, but obvious not hard enough. I have a feeling illegal immigration has something to with the shockingly high shave trade.
